SKINCARE REVIEW // PUREPOTIONS SCAR OIL

Since I’ve been fifteen years old, I have always struggled from disruptive acne, some of which have left scars. I tend to suffer from spots further around my forehead and chin which makes it seem like some sort of T-Zone acne, if that’s even a thing?

When skincare brand PurePotions got in touch to let me know they’d like to pop some products in the post for me, I was really excited because I knew this Scar Oil was on its way. I’ve normally left my acne scars to heal naturally, hoping they would clear up in time. Unfortunately, that hasn’t happened and I still have to cover them up with concealer when applying my makeup. I was intrigued by PurePotions Scar Oil because I have never thought about using a facial oil to heal my scars and the product’s 100% natural so I’m not using anything precarious on my skin.

I gave this oil a two-week trial and applied it to areas that had red acne scars dotted around my forehead and chin. By the end of the first week, I started to notice that the redness was clearing up and it wasn’t as noticeable as it used to be. I also noted that this made my makeup routine a lot simpler to do and hydrated those areas I applied the oil too. Because of this, I started to use this oil on my flaky areas (nose and around my mouth) which really made a difference compared to using a moisturiser on its own (a review of their moisturiser will shortly follow).

The oil smells a tad like lavender (most likely because it’s an ingredient) which can actually be quite relaxing to sniff. It’s a pleasant smell but I do keep dripping the product around everywhere so my whole desk is starting to smell like a lavender garden.

The dropper can be a bit messy if you’re quite rash and reckless like me so do take care and hold it up at all times (I’m just a tad clumsy).

Plus, the oil spreads far so you only need a teeny tiny amount!I absolutely love this oil and I’ve been using it religiously every night before bed. If you suffer from acne scars like me then I’d 100% recommend this Scar Oil.
